Now you have an idea where you are going. The big question is, how are you going to get there? We will discuss the methods of breaking down your vision into it’s component parts and show you how to apply it to your business. You will leave with an understanding of the vision process and the pieces that fit into implementing a successful vision.

3. Business Planning
Since we now have the big picture of where we are going, it is time to get into the nitty gritty. If you want to be the biggest widget producer in the world, you need to know who else produces widgets, you need to know their strengths, weaknesses. You need to understand the customer and many other things. We will guide you through the process of breaking down your vision into a real plan. This plan will act as your guide for all of your implementation going forward.

4. Marketing – who are you?
Before you can conquer a market, you first need to conquer yourself. Look at what it is you are trying to do. Develop a consistent communication message. Make sure you fully understand your customer and what they want, as well as what you will be providing to them. It is no use advertising that you have the lowest prices when you really want to sell niche products for a premium.

5. Effective Marketing techniques
Knowing who you are will help you consistently execute when you start to build your customer base. The question is, how do you build your customer base. That is the topic of this month’s program. Marketing can be defined as the activities that lead to the opportunity of a sale, we will give you an overview of the tools and techniques that you will need to know.

6. Effective Sales Techniques
By now you have gotten your message in front of many potential customers. How will you convert them into actual customers? We will give show you how to approach your prospects and how to more effectively turn them into customers.

7. Sales Systems
In order to consistently capture sales you need to effectively track, measure and implement sales systems to ensure that your sales are constantly improving. It is also critical that you create these systems such that anyone can use them. Sales systems are as important as sales technique because they will tell you how your business is going to be doing in the future, and will allow you to measure and improve on past performance.

8. Financial Systems
Some people think that financial systems are the realm of accountants and bookkeepers. However it is important for every business owner to have some understanding of the key metrics in their financial house. Understanding gross margin, profitability ratios, how to read a balance sheet, and how all of your financials tie together is a good step towards a successful business.

9. People
How do you go about hiring, are you good at it? When do you hire? When do you let someone go? How can you motivate? How do you know if you have found the right person? There are so many questions when dealing with people in your business, but ultimately a good business can thrives on it’s employees (team).

10. Growth Strategies
Now that you have the basics in place in your business, we will look at methods to grow your business. We will look at how businesses add customers and how to manage the growth though using systems.

11. Increasing your Profits
What strategies can be used to focus on improving the bottom line. Too many businesses focus only on the top line (revenue). We will show you how to focus on the bottom line and give you techniques to grow the most important number in your business, your profits.

12. Using Technology in your business
In our final chapter we will discuss how small businesses can effectively use technology as an asset to their business. We will discuss the various uses of technology in the business world such as contact management, communication, marketing, planning, tracking and running your operations.
